Homemade Pouch~

Homemade Pouches

For this project I'm going to show you how you can make a pouch, pencil case, or just something to hold your stuff with magazines, a Ziploc bag, tape, and hot glue.

The first thing your going to need are some old magazines you don't mind ripping up.
I want this to be easy for you so I recommend finding whole pages that you can use.

After you find your pages, you're going to need your Ziploc bag. The size is totally up to you. I grabbed a big one because I didn't have smaller ones at the moment. I decided to make a pencil case so I grabbed a pencil to measure how big I want the bag. Once I figured out the sizes I cut it up, ready for the next step.

Once you have your piece look for the pages you want to cover it. If your a perfectionist like me then you can cut the edges but for what I have planned you don't really need to.
Cut out enough pages to fill the front and back.
Tip: Take one entire page that you like and fold it where the open side is.

Now that we got he pieces we need it;s time to glue it together. I used a hot glue gun, but you can use super glue if you like.
Tip: Half the Ziploc is open so all I did was glue dots in the corners and on the magazines. Your don't really need to glue the center.

Once you glue it enough to hold together grab some nice tape.

We are going to tape the edges to secure it and cover up the rough edges. I think the tape brings the look together.

After taping the edges I personally don't like the lines between the two pieces of paper so I grabbed another color tape and made it to my liking. Make sure to be careful cutting the edges. You don't want to make a hole.

Once that's done I didn't like how plain the top was so I grabbed the white tape again and cut two pieces. One for each side. When you add the tape on the top make sure that it doesn't cover the part where the Ziploc closes together.

We are pretty much done now. All we need are the pencils and pens to put inside :)

The End~

Next time I'll show you how to make something similar using magazines and clear tape!
